APTMA demands audit of RLNG from 2015 to 2022

All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) has expressed serious concerns over the lack of transparency in the “actualization” of RLNG prices, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a statement issued on Monday, APTMA demanded that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) conduct an independent audit of RLNG accounts from 2015 to 2022.

APTMA further stated that a high court already ordered Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) to conduct the audit, and no recovery is acceptable to industrial users without verification and audit.

APTMA alleged that 84-month combined billing to industrial customers without working papers.

 UFG formula imposes an additional burden of Rs124 billion on industrial consumers. SNGPL's profit increased, but gas delivery decreased.

The burden of supplier defaults in 2022 was shifted to consumers. Industrial users will have to bear an additional cost of $650 million.
