A large contingent of Karachi Police and Rangers have been deployed to seal 11 Karachi Union Councils after the presence of coronavirus cases was confirmed on Saturday.

These union councils include Safura, Faisal Cantt, Mazar Colony, Gillani Railways, Phalwan Goth,  Gulzar Hajary, Jamal Colony, Dalmiya, Gulshan, Jacob Line, Jamshed Quarters. These localities were sealed on the orders of Deputy Commissioner Karachi East in order to prevent the further spread of coronavirus.

As per the notification, no one would be allowed to leave or enter the union councils until further orders.

Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab said the decision has been taken because there were 149 positive cases confirmed in these UCs. “The Sindh government is taking all measures to combat the deadly virus,” he added.
