An 18-year-old bride was kidnapped while her brother and cousin were seriously wounded when the assailants resorted to firing at a Nikah ceremony in Narowal on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

Both brother and cousin of the bride were referred to a hospital in Lahore due to the serious nature of their injuries.  

According to an FIR registered on the complaint of girl’s father, some armed men kidnapped an 18-year-old girl from Miran Shah Hussain locality of the city right at the time when her nikah was being solemnized. “And when relatives of the bride put up resistance, the intruders opened fire at them, critically wounding two of them, namely 11-year-old Ameer Hamza and 30-year-old Naseem Asghar, who were initially shifted to district headquarters hospital. And when their condition further deteriorated, they were referred to a hospital in Lahore in critical condition,” reads the text of the FIR.  

Police were conducting raids to arrest the culprits till the filing of this news report.
