Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in a letter written to Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority instructed Pakistani pilots to verify their licences, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday, quoting its sources.
The licences of Pakistani pilots working in Ethiopia should be verified, the letter reads. The letter demanded that the names of the pilots whose licences are dubious must be conveyed.
After European Union put a ban of six months, United States Transport Department also revoked permission for PIA special direct flights to the US and similar bans by Malaysian Civil Aviation Authority of licences verification of Pakistani pilots, now the Ethiopian Civil Aviation has demanded such verification.
Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif blamed Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan for defaming the national carrier in the whole world.
