PM Imran Khan says ‘budget will please everyone’

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the federal budget for the next fiscal year will please everyone.
He said this while responding to a question posed by the 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
As Prime Minister Imran Khan came into the Parliament House along with his staff, 24News TV channel’s reporter Awais Kiyani tossed a question from a distance towards the premier asking “Will the budget be people-friendly?”

The prime minister stopped for a while, pointed a finger towards the 24News TV channel’s reporter and said “You will all be very happy today.”

Imran Khan, who was not accompanied by any federal minister at that moment, then went into a room to chair a meeting.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting of the federal cabinet in which it was agreed to give a 10 percent increase in government servants’ salaries and pensions.

After the final approval of the federal cabinet, the decision regarding 10% hike in emoluments and pensions would be announced in the budget speech later.
Also on Thursday, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin told reporters while launching the Pakistan Economic Survey that the government wanted not to burden the poor in the federal budget.
