12-year-old boy accidentally shot dead while making TikTok in Karachi

A 12-year-old boy lost his life in a tragic shooting incident while allegedly making a TikTok video at home in New Karachi’s Ayub Goth Godhra Society, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.

The deceased, identified as Nawaz, son of Raheel, was reportedly alone at home when the accident occurred, according to his uncle, Farooq.

His parents had gone out for shopping, leaving him unattended. While recording a video on his mobile phone, Nawaz accidentally shot himself with a licensed pistol that was present in the house.

After the gunshot, the injured child was immediately shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, but he succumbed to his wounds.

Nawaz was the only child of his parents, making the tragedy even more devastating for the grieving family. His father has reportedly been unemployed for a long time, a relative of the deceased shared with the media.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, particularly focusing on how the child accessed the weapon. The pistol was licensed, but authorities are probing whether it was left unsecured, leading to the accidental discharge.

The heartbreaking incident once again raises concerns about gun safety in households and the risks associated with children handling firearms unsupervised.
