Sindh govt orders ACs to be switched off at 4pm under austerity policy

The government of Sindh on Wednesday took a new step under its austerity policy by ordering that air conditioners in all government offices be switched off at 4pm.

According to an official directive issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, the decision has been taken as part of measures to reduce government expenditures and promote energy conservation.

The order instructs all government departments and offices across the province to strictly comply with the directive and ensure that air conditioners are turned off after the specified time. Officials say the move is aimed at implementing financial discipline and minimising unnecessary electricity consumption in public sector offices.
