Anti-harassment committees to be set up in Punjab schools
Punjab government has decided to set up anti-harassment committees in Punjab government schools, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
In this regard, the concerned authorities have been directed to form anti-harassment committees in all government schools.
The decision has been taken on the instructions of the Punjab Chief Minister on the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child.
The anti-harassment committees will ensure a safe and respectful environment for female students.
The committees will deal with complaints of sexual harassment confidentially and effectively.
A committee consisting of at least three teachers will be set up in each school.
Adequate representation of women in the committees has been made mandatory.
The record of complaints will be sent to the District Education Authority.
It will be mandatory to submit the report of all school committees to the Education Department within 30 days.
