Punjab CM Maryam sets target to complete drainage projects before June

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has set target to complete drainage projects before June, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Chairing a meeting, Maryam Nawaz ordered to work 24 hours on ongoing drainage projects in 15 cities.
She directed to ensure completion of sewerage line and rainwater drainage projects before monsoon.
The meeting was told that work on drainage projects in Sargodha, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujrat, Okara, Jhang, Multan and Sialkot are at fast pace while drainage projects in Jhelum, Hafizabad, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib and Rawalpindi are also in progress.
As many as 2265 km long sewerage line and 189 km long pipeline for rainwater drainage will be laid for 15 cities while 86 disposal stations and 9 underground storage tanks will be built in phase one.
WASA sewerage and rainwater drainage Upon completion of the project, 752 km long roads will also be constructed.
In the meeting Maryam Nawaz Sharif also approved the design of WASA complexes in 15 cities.
Hostels for officers will also be built in WASA complexes.
Real-time monitoring of ongoing projects on WASA dashboard and mobile app is continued.
WASA will also launch a large-scale de-silting campaign to clean drains before the monsoon.
