Stars defeat Invincibles to lift Women’s T20 championship trophy
Stars secured victory in the National Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament after defeating Invincibles by 52 runs in a one-sided final marked by strong all-round performances, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
Batting first, Stars posted a total of 156 for nine in their allotted 20 overs. Tooba Hasan led the innings with a composed half-century, scoring 50 runs, while Sidra Amin contributed 30 runs to provide stability to the total.
For the Invincibles, Amber Kainat and Momina Riasat claimed two wickets each, but were unable to restrict the opposition to a lower score.
In reply, Invincibles struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for 104 runs in 16.1 overs. Muneeba Ali was the top scorer for her side with 27 runs, but lacked support from the rest of the batting line-up.
Stars’ bowlers maintained control throughout the innings, with Tooba Hasan completing an impressive performance by taking three wickets. Ayesha Bilal also claimed three wickets, helping to dismantle the Invincibles’ batting order.
The comprehensive victory underlined Stars’ dominance in the final, as they lifted the national title with a balanced display in both batting and bowling.
