The egg prices have been skyrocketed in the open market as they are now being sold at Rs30 per egg instead of the official price of Rs24, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The tsunami of inflation in the Lahore's open market has taken away the purchasing power of the citizens. The illegal profiteers started taking advantage of the opportunity due to the shortage of farm eggs.

As per egg traders, there is a 30% shortfall of eggs in the city compared to demand, and they are being sold at Rs286 per dozen.
