Narcotics Control Division merged into Interior Ministry

The government has issued a notification to merge Narcotics Control Division into the Interior Ministry with immediate effect, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
After merger, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) will function under the interior ministry and the ministry will be renamed as Ministry of Interior and Anti-Narcotics.
The name of interior ministry and anti-narcotics will be used in all official documents.
The federal government already made some amendments in its Rules of Business 1973 in this regard.
The move is a part of the government’s drive of right-sizing under some ministries and departments will be abolished and merged into others.
