Somalia cancels all agreements with UAE over alleged interference

Somalia’s cabinet has cancelled all agreements with the United Arab Emirates, accusing Abu Dhabi of activities that undermine the country’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, Arab media reported.

According to the cabinet, the UAE has been involved in actions that pose a serious threat to Somalia as an independent and sovereign state, in violation of international principles that require respect for the sovereignty of other nations.

Somali authorities claimed they possess concrete evidence supporting allegations of UAE interference.

As part of the decision, Somalia has terminated all security and defense cooperation agreements with the UAE.

In addition, contracts related to three Somali ports have also been scrapped.
