Opposition Leader in the Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that according to the constitution, the budget cannot be presented till the distribution of the National Finance Commission (NFC) award, reported 24News HD TV channel.

The former prime minister said Budget 2021 has no constitutional status as it was presented without the distribution of the NFC award.

He said that the 18th amendment of the Constitution made the budget conditional with the distribution of NFC awards. He said that the opposition parties would not allow the unconstitutional budget to be passed by the Senate.

The opposition parties staged a walk-out in the Senate yesterday against the unconstitutional presentation of the budget without approval of the NFC award, he said and added that the Pakistan Peoples Party will not allow any action against the Constitution of Pakistan.
