Heavy rain lashes Swat upper areas

Strong windy weather with rain coupled with thunderstorms lashed upper areas of Swat city on Sunday lowering the summer heat and providing much-needed respite to the local people, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Rain triggered a cold wave which has gripped the Swat Valley.

A shallow westerly wave is present over western/upper parts of the country and moist currents from Arabian Sea are penetrating central and eastern parts of the country.

The weather office forecasted gusty/dust raising winds are likely in central/southern Punjab and upper Sindh with rain-wind/thunderstorm in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Potohar region in the afternoon /evening.

And mainly very hot and dry weather is expected in most plain areas of the country.
