Balochistan lawyers condemn attack on bar president's son, demand action against gun culture

The Balochistan legal community on Friday strongly condemned the attack on the son of a lawyers' leader and called for immediate measures to curb the growing gun culture in the provincial capital.

Addressing a joint press conference, Mir Attaullah Lango, president of the Balochistan High Court Bar Association, described the attack on the son of advocate Waseem Jadoon as a horrific incident and expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Quetta.

"This was a horrific incident," Lango said, adding that violence in the city had reached alarming levels.

He said the situation had worsened to the extent that "not only humans but even animals are not being spared," and blamed the increasing incidents of violence on the widespread gun culture.

Lango said two suspects involved in the attack had already been arrested and demanded the immediate arrest of a third accused who has been nominated in the case.

He informed journalists that the injured Abdullah was provided first aid before being shifted to Karachi through an air ambulance for further medical treatment.

The bar association president thanked the Chief Justice, Chief Minister and Health Minister for their prompt response and assistance following the incident.

Calling for decisive government action, Lango urged authorities to take immediate steps to eliminate the gun culture in Quetta and strengthen public safety.

He said weapons should not be allowed in the city except in the possession of security forces, arguing that stricter controls were necessary to prevent such incidents and restore public confidence in law enforcement.

Other lawyers present at the press conference also condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with the injured youth and his family, while demanding swift justice and stronger measures to curb armed violence in the province.
