The per tola price of 24 karat gold decreased by Rs100 in line with decline in the international rate, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to rates shared by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the yellow metal was priced at Rs230,100 per tola after shedding Rs100 during the day. The 10-gram gold was sold at Rs197,274 after a decrease of Rs86.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold also saw a downward trend to trade at Rs180,834.

These fluctuations are closely linked to changes in the value of the US Dollar, indicating the intricate relationship between currency values and gold prices.

This underscores the influence of global economic factors on local gold markets.

With a premium of $20, the international rate of gold on Tuesday was set at $2,197 per ounce, after a decline of $1 in the international market.

The price of 24-karat silver, however, remained stable at Rs2,600.
