8-year-old girl raped, murdered in Mehar

An unidentified accused brutally murdered an eight-year-old girl after raping her and later buried her in a local graveyard in Mehar, reported 24NewsHd TV channel on Wednesday.

The girl was later identified as Azmat Sodhar and the incident occurred in Hajan Shah Colony of Mehar. 

After the incident, the heirs of the victim exhumed her grave and took out her dead body.

Heirs of the victim said that their daughter was killed as the accused attacked their daughter with rod and bricks.

Later heirs and relatives of the girl staged a sit-in after placing her dead body on Indus Highway.

Police said that they were conducting raids to arrest the accused after registering a case.

Later, the police announced the arrest of the accused.

Further investigation was underway.
