Sindh CM Murad counts his govt’s feats during last one year

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that they the provincial government has successfully achieved targets set by the Pakistan People’s Party leadership in one year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.  

Giving a presentation to highlight his government’s achievements during the last one year, Murad Ali shah said their focus was on digitalization of the governance.

He said last year PPP Chairman Bilawal launched Benazir Hari Card and we gave Hari Cards to the victims of the 2022 floods and spent more than Rs10 billion during the floods.

He further said that People's Information Technology Program was started and more than 13000 students are being prepared this year.

Currently, 11071 graduates have come out and from next year we will increase it, Murad Ali Shah said.

He said the Irrigation Department has established a Hydro Information Center.

The Sindh People's Housing Scheme is being implemented through the portal and data of more than two million people is included in it.

The Excise and Taxation Department has created a digitalized app and started online premier number plates, he added.

Sindh Food Authority has launched a business app and business portal. We started e-procurement and 5658 registrations have been made.

He said Food Department has signed an agreement with SGS through that every sack of wheat will be checked. We will not purchase wheat this year because we already have wheat in stock. He said that there is a fear of less wheat production this year

Sindh Police has been digitized and the driving license department has become fully computerized.

He said this year, 196 schemes in the road sector have been completed among these 75 km road from Sanghar to Umerkot has also been completed and 58 km road in Tharparkar has been completed while Mehran Highway Karachi Landhi to Port Qasim was completed as well.

He said we want to save water and we don't want to make one area barren and another area fertile.

Murad Ali Shah said we have given 219 solar pumps in agriculture and lined 1029 water courses. 

Further, the work of solarization of the Energy Department is underway and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has inaugurated the provision of 200000 solar panels while we have decided to give another 300000 solar panels.

By next year, solar panels will be distributed to 500000 people and these solar panels are being given to registered people of Benazir Income Support but there is no government intervention in this.

As many as 34 government buildings have been solarized among these Dow University Ojha Campus, Central Jail Karachi, Malir Jail Garden, Police Headquarters and Alfalah Base Korangi have been solarized and this has reduced the expenses by 80 percent.

Sindh People's Bus has been running for two years and started in two cities this year because demand for People's Bus is very high.

Sindh Livestock Expo was very successful. A PPR vaccine has been developed.

All the gates of Sukkur Barrage are being replaced which will add 30 years to its life and this is a three-year project while the gates of Guddu Barrage are also being replaced. About 71 water supply and drainage projects have been completed this year. 

More than 1.4 million patients have been treated with NICVD, 5231 surgeries have been performed and 17952 heart surgeries were performed. 

So far Gambat Institute has done 1187 liver transplants and 200 liver transplants have been done this year while 100 kidney transplants have been done.

A new Cyber Knife has been given to Jinnah Hospital this year and this is the third Cyber Knife. About 16 machines have been given to Cyber Knife, 5 robots installed in SIUT and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Institute Trauma Center has treated 70000 people.

Rescue 1122 has reached all districts and even Rescue 1122 center has been established on Super Highway.

We have just signed an agreement with Oxford University and 6 scholarships will be given to our children.

Not less than 202 schools have been adopted by 94 assembly members and 12000 private schools have been surveyed.

Teachers have been recruited on merit and 587 schools have been built in a year.

Dow University has established an auditorium in Engineering.

Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Endowment established with Rs100 million. The scholarship permanently empowers 10 women scholars of Sindh.
