HEC's degree attestation system goes online

In a major relief for students and graduates across the country, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has made its degree attestation system completely online and paperless.

HEC Chairman Niaz Ahmed Akhtar announced that students would no longer need to visit HEC offices for degree attestation, as the entire process has now been shifted to a digital system.

According to the announcement, the degree attestation service is now available online 24 hours a day, allowing applicants to submit their requests at any time from anywhere in the country.

The HEC has also removed the condition requiring students to carry original educational certificates for verification. The process has now been shifted to complete digital verification, making the system more convenient for applicants.

Officials said online verification of attested degrees is also now possible, which will make the process faster, easier and more transparent.

The new e-attestation system came into effect nationwide from May 11, 2026.

The HEC chairman described the initiative as a revolutionary step aimed at facilitating students and graduates, adding that the verification of educational documents has now become fully digital across Pakistan.
