Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said that submarine cable fault was reported on Monday near Fujairah, UAE, due to which some users may have faced degradation in services, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

“The faulty cable segment has been repaired and work is underway to make the services fully functional,” PTA said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The PTA said that it has been monitoring the situation and will continue to update on it.

As per reports, internet services have been disrupted to multiple users across the country and internet users facing slow internet services.

Earlier, the 25,000 kilometres long Asia-Europe double AE-1 cable of 40 terabytes had broken down near the UAE state of Fujairah.

The telecom sources said due to the breakdown of the said most important cable, the internet speed in Pakistan got slow. The sources said that due to the breakdown of the main cable, internet data traffic was transferred to other low-capacity cables.
