Punjab seeks Army's assistance for conducting flood damage survey

The Punjab government has requested the assistance of the Pakistan Army to carry out a comprehensive survey of flood-related damage across the province.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, a formal request has been submitted to the Ministry of Defence through the Federal Ministry of Interior on Friday.
According to the plan, 1,710 army personnel will be deployed alongside survey teams in 25 districts of Punjab. The expenses for the survey will be borne by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The survey will begin on September 12 in 10 districts, including Chiniot, Lahore, Sialkot, and Hafizabad. From September 18, the operation will expand to 13 districts, including Jhang, Multan, Okara, and Muzaffargarh. Finally, from September 20, teams will begin assessments in Kasur, Rajanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.
Authorities said the survey will compile a detailed record of all types of flood damage, including loss of life, property, crops, livestock, and infrastructure.
The Punjab government has tasked the Land Record Authority and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) with conducting the survey in coordination with military teams.
