Diesel price ‘soared’ 42% in Pakistan, 8% in India, 15% in Bangladesh
Goods transporters demand govt to review the hike in petroleum prices
All Pakistan Goods Transport Owners Association expressed serious concerns over the recent hike in diesel prices and demanded that the government immediately review the same, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
President of All Pakistan Goods Transporters Association Mohammad Awais Chaudhry said that the diesel price has surpassed Rs400 per liter.
He said that after the Gulf War, the diesel price was increased by 42 percent in Pakistan.
Awais Chaudhry said that diesel prices were increased by 8 percent in India and 15 percent in Bangladesh.
He asked the government as to whether the Gulf War going is only impacting Pakistan?
He went on to say that the Gulf War affected the economy of the whole world, but there is marginable increase being witnessed in inflation in the country
Mohammad Awais Chaudhry said that the hike in diesel price affected the transport sector and national economy.
He said that goods transporters cannot bear the burden of the hike in diesel prices.
He urged the government to adopt measures to provide relief to the common man.
