IAPJ organises virtual conference on media freedom

The International Association of Pakistani Journalists (IAPJ) organised a virtual conference on media freedom, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Thursday.
Senior journalist Mujeebur Rehman Shami and ex-civil servant Orya Maqbool Jan shed light on the importance of media freedom.
They said freedom of speech is the basic right of a person and the independent media helped save people from various evils in the democratic states.
They stressed the need for following the code of conduct to promote the freedom of speech. They heaped praise on oversees Pakistani journalists for their valuable services for expats across the world.
More than 33 journalist from parts of the globe joined the moot. The hosts were IAPJ General secretay Ayaz Mehmood from France and Senior VP Khurram from America.
Central President Shahid Chohan from South Africa said the basic objective of the association is to unite oversees Pakistani journalists so that they could portray a better image of the Pakistan across the world.
Fehmida Yousafi, Matiullah, Zahoor Mirza Riwan and Ijaz were among the participants while the association members included Irfan Faraz, Mehwish Khan, Nadeem Tufail, Kashif Bhutta, Fahad Khokhar, Amir Sadiq and Javed Azeemi.
