Tayiba Ashraf wins 3 gold medals at 2025 Taekwondo Championship in Malaysia
Pakistan’s taekwondo star Tayiba Ashraf clinched three gold medals at the 2025 International Taekwondo Championship in Malaysia, delivering a historic Independence Day triumph for the nation, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday.
“I’m overwhelmed with joy and pride! I’ve won 3 gold medals in the International Taekwondo Championship 2025 held in Malaysia, and this achievement is a gift to Pakistan on our Independence Day,” Tayiba shared in an Instagram post.
Tayiba expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent her country on the international stage. “Allah has given me the incredible opportunity to represent my country once again, and I’m honoured to have flown our flag high in front of 35+ countries. This achievement is a huge victory for us, and I’m thrilled that my dream has finally come true,” she added.
The taekwondo champion highlighted her victories in three categories: virtual fight, pair poomsae, and the -49kg fight. “My wins in these events have made me proud to represent Pakistan on the global stage,” she said.
Tayiba dedicated her victories to her homeland, saying: "Bringing pride to Pakistan means everything. This is just the beginning—my next goal is the Olympics, where I hope to raise our flag even higher."
She also credited her parents, coaches, and supporters for their unwavering faith:
"Without their prayers and sacrifices, this wouldn’t be possible. I ask for continued support as I chase bigger dreams."
