Meeting between Shehbaz, Ch Shujat ends; political issues discussed

A meeting between Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and Chaudhry Brothers is ended here in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Shehbaz along with members of his delegation has reached Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujat Hussain’s residence to inquire after his health.

It is after 14 long years that Shehbaz has visited Chaudhry Shujat and Chaudhry’s Pervaiz Elahi’s Gulberg residence.  

Both Sharifs and Chaudhrys, who were earlier quite close to each other, had drifted apart following they developed some differences.

Besides inquiring after ailing Shujat, the PML-N president will also discuss with him and other leaders of PML-Q the prevailing political situation of the country, especially the no-confidence move the opposition parties plan to bring against the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government.

The meeting between both parties leadership was about one hour and twenty minutes long. After the meeting, Shehbaz left the venue.

During the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif discussed the matter of the PDM’s scheduled long march with the Chaudhry brothers and tried to get their support on it but the latter did not give any final judgement in this regard.
