Private schools demand end to Saturday holidays

Private schools have demanded abolition of Saturday holidays in the upcoming academic year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
In this regard, Head of Pak Education House, Qazi Naeem Anjum proposed that summer holidays should be given for 2 months and winter holidays for only 10 days in January.
He said academic year should be at least 180 days.
Unannounced holidays meant that educational activities could be conducted for only 127 days in the previous academic year, Qazi Naeem Anjum said.
He demanded that summer camps should be allowed to be organized during summer holidays to complete the syllabus.
School Education Department assured to fulfill the demands of the after listening to the private schools.
