Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi blames US for blocking peace efforts

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Wednesday said that the United States’ behaviour remains the biggest obstacle to peace in the Middle East, amid ongoing regional tensions and diplomatic exchanges.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Araghchi made these remarks during a meeting with Norway’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andreas Kravik, where broader regional developments were discussed.

He also said that Iran is working on developing regulations in line with international law for the possible reopening and management of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important shipping routes.

In related developments, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghai reiterated strong criticism of the United States and Israel, warning that those showing hostility towards Iran would face severe consequences.

Baghai made the comments in a detailed statement shared on the social media platform X, where he called on the international community to demonstrate what he described as “moral courage” and to take practical steps in support of Iran.

He further stated that the war, as he described it, imposed by the United States and Israel would determine future distinctions between good and evil in the international order.

The Iranian spokesman also accused certain countries of repeatedly violating international law while claiming to act in defence of peace, contrasting them with those who, in his words, protect innocent lives at all costs.

Baghai described the ongoing conflict as a struggle between “professional liars” and those defending their homeland with dignity.

The remarks come amid heightened diplomatic exchanges involving Iran and Western countries as regional tensions continue to evolve.
