PPP’s Sharmila Faruqui laments protocol given to drug dealer Pinky

Expressing indignation over the treatment given to Anmol, alias Pinky, PPP MNA Sharmila Faruqui on Wednesday said that it pained her to see the drug dealer roaming around freely in court, and that too without handcuffs, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

She said that it was really unfortunate that the police gave protocol to Pinky. “And this did not stop there since the media did not lag behind either and portrayed her as a celebrity,” she lamented.

She said that there should be a boycott of these people, who incapacitated youth by giving them poison.

Also on Wednesday, member of parliament Shaista Jadoon, while terming audio leaks of Pinky disturbing, said that the drug dealer should have been produced in court handcuffed. “Sindh government should take action against those responsible for giving her VIP treatment,” she demanded.

Speaking to the media outside the Parliament House, Shaista said it was unfortunate that Pinky was roaming freely in court without any fear as was seen in the video.

In yet another development on Wednesday, Senate’s Standing Committee on Interior summoned Anti-Narcotics Force director general.

The committee Chairman Senator Faisal Saleem also sought record from concerned departments, including the ANF, of people to whom Pinky would supply drugs. “Present record of parliamentarians, students, judges or people belonging to other walks of life who purchased drugs from the female drug dealer,” Senator Saleem demanded.

He also demanded that there should be drug testing of all individuals. “First of all, I present myself for the test,” he said, and vowed that the committee would spare none.
