Rape suspect arrested after police encounter in Pindi Bhatian

Two accused, including a rapist, were arrested in an injured condition during two police encounters in Pindi Bhatian and Muridke, reported 24News HD TV Channel on Wednesday.
The first police encounter took place in the jurisdiction of the city police station located at Hinduana Road in Pindi Bhatian.
According to details, a police team that was on a routine patrol signalled two suspicious persons who were riding a motorcycle, but the accused opened fire on the police team and tried to escape from the scene.
Later, the policemen saved themselves by hiding behind the car. When the firing was stopped, the police started a search operation and arrested one of the accused in an injured condition.
Police shifted the injured accused to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ), Pindi Bhatian. The accused was later identified as Nasir Ali and was wanted by the police for raping his 14-year-old stepdaughter.
The other companion of the accused escaped from the scene. Police started an operation to apprehend him.
The second police encounter occurred in Muridke, in which some dacoits came face-to-face with a police officer during routine patrolling.
In exchange for fire, one dacoit became seriously injured while his other accomplices managed to escape from the scene.
The arrested dacoit was later identified as Umair alias Umairi, who was wanted by the police in more than 35 serious criminal cases.
District Police Officer (DPO) cordoned off the entire area to arrest the remaining accused.
