The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Saturday decided to get a special briefing from the Ministry of Science and Technology to conduct NA-133 Lahore by-polls by using the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).  

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the ECP has written a letter to the Ministry for getting a detailed briefing about the usage of the EVM under its first prototype already introduced by the government.

The ministry official would give the briefing about the EVM’s performance to the ECP authorities on Monday, Nov 15 and then they would decide to use it in the by-elections.

The Ministry of Science would also provide a complete documentary record of the EVM prototype to the Technical Evaluation Committee headed by the Secretary Election Commission.
