Active coronavirus cases drop below 6,000 in Pakistan
526 more infections, six deaths reported during last 24 hours
According to the latest data issued by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Sunday morning, as many as 526 more people tested Covid-19 positive during the last 24 hours (Saturday) while six people lost their lives during the same period.
As many as 31,411 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan on Friday with Sindh carrying out 13,797, Punjab 9,748, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 3,375, Islamabad 3,119, Balochistan 606, Gilgit Baltistan 397 and Azad Jammu and Kashmir 369. Now, a total of 2,939,790 tests have been conducted throughout the country.
With the addition of 526 new infections, a total of 301,481 cases have been detected so far in Pakistan with Sindh having 131,990 cases, Punjab, 97,679, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 36,942, Islamabad 15,901, Gilgit Baltistan 3,196, Balochistan 13,483 and Azad Jammu and Kashmir 2,400.
Of the 301,481 cases, as many as 289,429 people have been recovered so far across Pakistan making it a significant count.
With the addition of six new deaths, the coronavirus death toll in Pakistan has now climbed up to 6,379 deaths with Sindh having 2,443 deaths (three died in hospital on 12 Sept), Punjab 2,217 (two died in hospital on 12 Sept), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 1,257 (one died in hospital on 12 Sept), Islamabad 178, Balochistan 145, Gilgit Baltistan 74, Azad Jammu and Kashmir 65.
There was no patient on a ventilator in Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
