As the mercury gradually drops in the country, the fog has started to grip more areas disrupting traffic on highways and reducing visibility for early morning commuters, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As the fog clouds darkened more cities in Pakistan, the authorities on Tuesday shut down several motorways at many places due to the poor visibility.
According to a spokesman of the Motorway Police, Motorway, M3, has been closed for traffic from Lahore to Jaranwala. Motorway, M2, was shut down from Lahore to Sheikhupura and Motorway, M1, was off for traffic from Peshawar to Rashkai.
Spokesman Yasir Mahmood said these steps were taken for the safety of the road users. He advised the drivers to use fog lights on their vehicles while travelling amid foggy conditions.
After a few hours, two of the motorways have been opened for traffic as the fog was lifted.
