Saudi Arabia introduces high-tech cooling Ihram for Hajj and Umrah

Saudi Arabia has unveiled a high-tech ihram designed to provide comfort and protection for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, in collaboration with design firm Landor and brrr®, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday. 

 The innovative garment integrates advanced cooling technology, combining moisture-wicking, rapid-dry fabrics, and cooling minerals to help reduce skin temperature by up to 2°C.

In addition to thermal regulation, the ihram offers UPF 50+ sun protection, shielding pilgrims from harmful ultraviolet rays during long hours under the sun.

The new design aims to make the physically demanding pilgrimage safer and more comfortable, particularly in the extreme heat of the region.

Officials described the high-tech ihram as a “game-changer” for pilgrims, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s commitment to integrating modern technology with traditional practices to enhance the Hajj and Umrah experience.
