Pakistan extends TTA with Afghanistan for three months

Pakistan had decided to extend the existing Transit Trade Agreement (TTA) for another three months with Afghanistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a tweet uploaded on Sunday, Pakistan Special Envoy to Afghanistan Muhammad Sadiq the extension has been awarded at the request of the government in Kabul.

He further said: “We hope that negotiations on the new transit trade agreement will be concluded during these three months.”

The envoy said economic diplomacy should lead bilateral relations between the two states.

In an earlier tweet posted on Saturday, Ambassador Sadiq extended congratulations after the first transit consignment to Central Asia passed through the Ghulam Khan crossing.

He said: “This route is the shortest between Pakistan's coast and Afghanistan and beyond. Residents of Khost province celebrated this development which will create jobs in Khost and North Waziristan.”
