After Marriyum, Shahzad Akbar sends Rs500m legal notice to Azma Bokhari too

Adviser to Prime Minister on Accountability and Interior Mirza Shahzad Akbar served a legal notice of Rs500 million to PML-N’s Azma Zahid Bokhari over ‘defamatory’ statements and allegations levelled against him, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a tweet, he said: “My lawyers have also issued legal notice to Uzma Bukhari for defamation for her allegations levelled against me. She must apologise or gather 500 million to pay in damages. Money received in damages will be given to charities in Pakistan.”

This is the second notice in the last 24 hours to PMLN leaders by the PM Adviser on Accountability and interior.

The notice reads, “All allegations and insinuations made and adverse inferences drawn by you are strongly denied as they are completely fabricated, libellous and scandalous. Your defamatory statements are nothing other than a bundle of unverified material and presenting untrue defamatory statements as an established statement of facts.”

The notice further reads, “You are liable to make good all losses caused to the client and the office of Advisor to the Prime Minister in case you do not retract your fake defamatory statements and issue an official apology.”

The PML-N leader Azma Zahid Bokhari spent no time in replying to the notice but on Twitter and said, “He doesn't even know my real name and has served notice. Let's see. Now serve a notice to Mousavi too, who was asking for a cut there.”

It is pertinent to note that Mirza Shahzad Akbar on Wednesday served a legal notice of Rs500 million to PML-N’s spokesperson and MNA Marriyum Aurangzeb over ‘defamatory’ statements.

Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday said that the Broadsheet firm gave Rs500 million to Shahzad Akbar.

Shahzad Akbar asked the PML-N leader to apologise or she would be taken to the court.

Mirza Shahzad Akbar took to twitter and wrote, “My lawyers on my instruction have served legal notice to Maryam Aurangzeb for her defamatory statement today. She has been asked to apologise or she will be taken to court.”
