Two accused killed in custody as gunmen attack police team in Peshawar

Unidentified gunmen opened fire on the SHO of Pishtakhara police station and an investigation team in Peshawar, killing two suspects who were in police custody, officials said on Tuesday.

According to police, the firing occurred while the suspects were being taken to the scene for identification and recovery.

During the attack, the assailants managed to flee, while the police party remained unharmed.

The two suspects, who died on the spot, were allegedly involved in a robbery incident on January 2, during which a young man, Shahzaib, was shot dead.

Police have launched a search operation in the area to trace the attackers, and further investigations are underway.
