Saima Akram blasts Nadia Khan, says she 'Ruined' her script
Pakistani screenwriter Saima Akram Chaudhry has strongly criticized actress and television host Nadia Khan after the latter's remarks on a scene from the ongoing drama serial Zanjeerain went viral on social media.
The controversy began when a clip from Nadia Khan's review show surfaced online, in which she mocked a scene featuring actress Sajal Aly as Rabiya. While reacting to the sequence in which Sajal's character runs while calling out, "Koi hai?" Nadia sarcastically joked that "Sir Buland" would come running, leaving many viewers divided over her commentary.
Although Zanjeerain is written by Farhat Ishtiaq, Saima Akram Chaudhry stepped into the debate by recalling her own experience of working with Nadia Khan. The screenwriter argued that Nadia should avoid ridiculing other actors, claiming that Nadia's own performance had negatively affected one of Saima's scripts in the past.
Responding to the viral clip, Saima wrote: "This woman is in dire need of a psychiatrist. A script that I wrote straight from my heart, she completely ruined with her utterly pathetic acting, and now she sits and judge’s other people's acting. In fact, it's not criticism, it's mockery. Think of it like giving a matchstick to a monkey."
Her blunt comment quickly went viral, triggering mixed reactions across social media.
Many users supported the writer's remarks. One user commented, "Her own acting is pathetic, yet she's busy judging others." Another wrote, "Saima ji is absolutely right."
Others, however, felt that criticism should remain respectful regardless of personal differences, saying professional reviews should focus on constructive feedback rather than personal attacks.
The exchange has reignited discussions about the line between constructive criticism and public mockery in Pakistan's entertainment industry, with social media users debating whether celebrity reviewers should be more mindful when commenting on fellow artists' performances.
