SHC orders Hyderabad authorities to pay 37 employees’ salaries within three days

The Sindh High Court has ordered the Hyderabad Development Authority and the Water and Sewerage Corporation to pay all outstanding salaries to 37 employees within three days in a contempt of court case over their failure to allow the workers to resume duties despite an earlier court order, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.

The court also sought an implementation report from the two organisations and adjourned further hearing of the case until July 27, according to the employees’ lawyer, Ishrat Lohar.

During the hearing, the court questioned officials from the HDA and the Water and Sewerage Corporation over their failure to give joining to the 37 employees.

Lohar said representatives of both organisations assured the court that the employees would be allowed to resume their duties.

The dispute dates back to July 4, 2025, when the HDA provided relief to 63 employees for placement with the Water and Sewerage Corporation.

On March 12, 2026, the court ordered the authorities to allow all the employees to join within 15 days.

However, 37 employees were not permitted to resume work despite the order, prompting them to file contempt proceedings.

The court directed the authorities to clear the employees’ unpaid salaries within three days and submit a report confirming compliance before the next hearing.
