The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to bring back Salman Shehbaz, son of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif, through Interpol, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
In a statement issued on Sunday, a NAB spokesman said Salman Shehbaz has been declared a fugitive by the court in a money laundering case. He said the NAB will also contact the British National Crime Agency in this regard.
An accountability court in October 2019 declared Salman Shehbaz as a proclaimed offender in money laundering case. During the hearing, judge Amir Mohammad Khan had ordered to seize properties of Salman Shehbaz for avoiding case hearings despite repeated summons. The decision was taken on the petition of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
In May, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz accused Salman Shehbaz of being the central figure in the mega-sugar scandal and announced that action against him would be taken.
