Cop martyred in attack on Mehar checkpost

A policeman who received serious bullet wounds some armed assailants attacked a police check-post in Mehar embraced martyrdom on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Police said that the incident occurred in the jurisdiction of A Section Police Station. Police said that a search operation has already started in the area to apprehend the culprits.

Earlier on March 12, 2025, an unidentified accused brutally murdered an eight-year-old girl after raping her and later buried her in a local graveyard in Mehar.

The girl was later identified as Azmat Sodhar and the incident occurred in Hajan Shah Colony of Mehar. 

After the incident, the heirs of the victim exhumed her grave and took out her dead body. Heirs of the victim said that their daughter was killed as the accused attacked their daughter with rod and bricks.

Later heirs and relatives of the girl staged a sit-in after placing her dead body on Indus Highway.
