The Met Office has predicted that weather in Karachi will remain extremely hot between May 15 and May 17, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the forecast, daytime temperatures in the city during that period will remain between 40 degrees Celsius and 42 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, for today, the weather department has predicted partly cloudy but hot weather for the port city.

According to the prediction, the maximum temperature may go up to 37 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.

Earlier, at dawn on Friday, the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level is expected to remain 74 percent.

A day ago on Thursday (May 13), Pakistan Meteorological Department had alerted about the possibility of a tropical cyclone formation in the South-eastern Arabian Sea, thousands of kilometers away from Karachi.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority had in a “Most Urgent” statement alarmed all the relevant deputy commissioners to take precautionary measures and to educate people of the coastal belt.

According to the Met department, a storm, due to a low-pressure area was expected to build up by May 14 (tomorrow) in the Southeast Arabian Sea, may be possible by May 16 and it would be a favourable condition for tropical cyclones as well.

While it said none of the Pakistani areas was under direct threat, it had advised the fishermen across Sindh to avoid going into the deep sea from tomorrow onwards.
