Taliban hold PIA country manager hostage

Pakistan International Airline (PIA) country manager was held hostage on Thursday by the Taliban for two hours, 24NEWS HD TV, reported. 

According to sources, the country manager was released following the intervention of senior officials, including the defence attaché. 

The country manager was leaving the Pakistani embassy in Kabul with an Afghan visa, sources said.

Earlier, Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has suspended the flight operation to Afghanistan on Thursday.

Flight operation for Kabul will be suspended till further orders, said a spokesperson of PIA.
