Pakistan reports 539 new coronavirus cases
The number of people testing positive for the coronavirus in Pakistan increased to 302,020 as the virus was found in another 539 during the past 24 hours, shows the figures released by the National Command and Operation Centre on Monday morning.
Also, the same period saw four more coronavirus patients dying which means the number of deaths caused by the pandemic now stands at 6,383.
As far as the active cases are concerned, a total of 5,831 people are currently infected by the coronavirus of which 1,011 have been admitted in different hospitals around the country. The remaining are isolated at their homes or other proper places.
Out of these 1,011 hospitalised patients out of which 551 are in critical condition. Moreover, 98 of those who are in ICUs have been placed on ventilators.
Meanwhile, 289,806 people have so far fully recovered from the infection, thus raising the number of closed cases [deaths + recoveries] to 296,189.
On the other hand, the region-wise distribution of the coronavirus cases shows that Sindh continues to be the most affected province in Pakistan with 132,084 people being infected.
The details for the other provinces/ regions are: Punjab 97,760, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 36,992, Islamabad 15,941, Balochistan 13,595, Gilgit-Baltistan 3,227 and Azad Kashmir 2,421.
