An airbus, one of the two planes acquired by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on a lease, landed at Islamabad’s International Airport on Tuesday while the second one will reach the federal capital in a few days from now, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The national flag carrier could not acquire planes during the last two years due to Covid-19 as well as the poor state of affairs of international aviation.

PIA CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik told the media that the induction of two new planes in the airline’s fleet would help it serve its passengers well. “The Almighty Allah’s benevolence and hard work done by my team members enabled the PIA to get these planes,” he added.

The PIA CEO especially thanked the airline’s Board of Directors and the minister for aviation for their efforts which made the acquisition of these planes possible.
