Petroleum dealers reject fuel relief scheme

Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) expressed serious concerns over the government’s fuel relief scheme, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a statement issued on Monday, Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association said that “it is difficult for petroleum dealers to implement this scheme at this stage”.

They expressed the fear that “fake IDs will be used through artificial intelligence”. He said fake IDs will cause a loss of billions of rupees to the national kitty.

The PPDA said that around 35 to 50 motorcycles stand in a line, and how is it possible to check every invoice? Due to invoice checking, a large number of people gather at the petrol pumps.

PPDA said that if 10 to 15 consumers leave without paying, then how can the petroleum dealers bear this loss?

They said that the government is free to sanction a relief package for the common man but petroleum dealers must be excluded from this process.

They said that petroleum dealers will hold a press conference within 48 hours and, after consultations, will announce their next plan.

The petroleum dealers suggested that it is important for the government to take them into confidence before announcing any decision.
