A senior police officer in Karachi was arrested on Tuesday for trying to abduct a builder in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

DSP Rashid Iqbal and his team disguised as NAB officers and tried to kidnap the builder. Sources claimed that a police mobile van was also used in the incident.

The Karachi police high-ups have now arrested DSP Rashid Iqbal, his driver and gunman, the TV channel reported, quoting its sources.

“Six people have been arrested so far involved in the incident,” the sources maintained. The TV channel reported that among those arrested are four policemen including the DSP and two civilians. 

Information is also being sought regarding the son of DSP Rashid Iqbal, the TV channel reported.
