CM Murad pledges full cooperation to Aman Committee

Delegation of Qaumi Pegham-e-Aman Committee met with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in Karachi on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The delegation was headed by Maulana Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Coordinator of National Peace Message Committee. 

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Provincial Minister for Labour Saeed Ghani, Provincial Minister for Religious Affairs Riaz Shah Sherazi, Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Haider Shah, Additional Chief Secretary Home Iqbal Memon, IG Police Javed Alam Odho, Commissioner Karachi Hassan Naqvi, Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan, and other officials participated in the meeting.

The delegation included Director General Religious Education Major General (retd) Dr. Ghulam Qamar, Secretary Qaumi-Pegham-e-Aman Committee Ashiq Hussain Sheikh, members of committee, Allama Syed Athar Hussain Mashhadi, Mufti Muhammad Jan Naeemi, Pandit Maharaj Goswami Gir and Sardar Ramesh Singh and other personalities.

Chief Minister Sindh welcomed delegation of Qaumi-Pegham-e-Aman Committee led by Maulana Tahir Ashrafi. 

Talking on the occasion, Murad Ali Shah said the services of the Pegham-e-Aman Committee for the promotion of peace, religious harmony, tolerance and national unity are commendable.

He said Sindh is the land of Sufis, love, tolerance and interfaith harmony. “Peace, tolerance, rule of law and mutual respect are the guarantee of sustainable development and national stability,” Chief Minister said.

Murad Ali Shah said that in Sindh, the Hindu community, Sikh community, Christian and Parsi communities and others celebrate their festivals freely and according to their beliefs.

The establishment of the Qaumi Pegham-e-Aman Committee and the Provincial Committee is an important step towards the promotion of national harmony, Chief Minister said.

The Sindh government will continue to fully cooperate with the National and Provincial Pegham-e-Aman Committee, Syed Murad Ali Shah said.

He said according to the Constitution of Pakistan, the government is responsible for protecting the life, property, honor, religious freedom and equal rights of all citizens.

Murad Ali Shah said we ensure peaceful conduct of Muharram-ul-Haram, Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, Chehlum, Christmas, Easter, Diwali, Holi and other religious festivals. 

Ulema, media, educational institutions and civil society must play a joint role to eliminate extremism, sectarianism and hatred, Syed Murad Ali Shah said.

Murad Ali Shah said ulema and religious scholars should spread the true message of peace, moderation, brotherhood and humanity of Islam. 

Sindh Chief Minister said hateful content and misinformation on social media can be countered with a positive national narrative and responsible behavior. 

Syed Murad Ali Shah said promoting tolerance, constitutional values, national responsibility and positive citizenship among the youth is the need of the hour.

Effective communication between district administration, law enforcement agencies, religious scholars and minority leaders is essential for peace and order, Sindh Chief Minister said.

'Pegham-e-Pakistan' is an effective document of national consensus against extremism, sectarianism and violence, Syed Murad Ali Shah added.

He said interfaith dialogue and contacts with minority communities will be further strengthened.

Proposed provincial ulema and religious scholars and interfaith dialogue Sindh government will fully cooperate for the successful holding of the Interfaith Harmony Conference, Syed Murad Ali Shah said.

He said we are committed to building a Pakistan based on the supremacy of the constitution, religious freedom, national unity, tolerance and sustainable peace.

Maulana Tahir Ashrafi said the mission of the Qaumi Pegham-e-Aman Committee is to promote peace, religious harmony, tolerance and national unity in Pakistan.

Ulema, Mashaikhs, minority leaders, state institutions and civil society should work together to effectively combat extremism, sectarianism and hatred, Maulana Tahir Ashrafi said.

He said Sindh's traditions, religious tolerance and interfaith harmony are an ideal model for the whole of Pakistan.

The Sindh government's promotion of peace, religious harmony and interfaith dialogue is commendable, Maulana Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi said.

Maulana Tahir Ashrafi thanked the Sindh Chief Minister for presenting religious tolerance in a positive and lively manner.

Addressing a press conference along with Sindh Chief Minister after meeting, Maulana Tahir Ashrafi said  terrorists are the enemies of the country's peace.

He said security forces personnel are making sacrifices across the country and not guarding the borders for pay.

Our army and security institutions are playing an important role and we consider martyrs as our pride, Tahir Ashrafi said.

Tahir Ashrafi said we stand with the institutions in the war against terrorism.

He said politicians should also adopt an attitude of tolerance. 

Ulema said it is necessary to end religious and political sectarianism.

They said peace of the country is linked to the Pak army. 

It is necessary to eliminate those who support the Fitna-ul-Hindustan and Fitna-ul-Khawaj, ulema said.
