Jannat Mirza calls for crackdown on cyber harassment against women

Pakistani social media sensation and digital creator Jannat Mirza has spoken out against the growing menace of cyberbullying and online harassment, urging authorities to take stronger action against those who target women on digital platforms.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Jannat shared the image of an individual involved in online abuse and accompanied it with a powerful statement condemning harassment and character attacks against women.

In her note, the influencer revealed that she had received multiple messages from individuals accusing the same person of allegedly targeting women, attacking their dignity, and engaging in harassment. Stressing the importance of speaking out, she stated that people who choose to intimidate, humiliate, or harm others should be exposed and held accountable for their actions.

"Silence only enables this kind of conduct to continue. It's time for stronger action to ensure that no woman has to face harassment or character attacks without consequences," she wrote.

In a follow-up statement, Jannat further emphasized that individuals who spread hatred, shame, and violence against women should face strict consequences.

She wrote, "No one has the right to attack a woman's dignity or subject her to unwanted hate and harassment. The government must take the strictest possible action against such individuals and make examples of them so others think twice before attempting to damage someone's reputation or honor."

Rather than remaining silent, the influencer chose to use her platform to raise awareness about digital abuse and encourage accountability. She also tagged the official social media handle of the Punjab government, publicly calling on authorities and law enforcement agencies to take decisive legal action against those involved in cyber harassment.
