Six terrorists killed in CTD operation in Kohat

Six hardened terrorists were gunned down during a joint operation of local police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CCD) in Kohat, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat said that six terrorists belonging to the banned Fitna-al-Khawarij terrorist group were killed in an intelligence-based operation carried out by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Lakki Marwat on Saturday.
Police cordoned off the area and started a search operation to apprehend the accomplices of the terrorists.
Earlier on Saturday, the CTD neutralised terrorists belonging to Fitna-al-Khawarij, a term the state uses for terrorists of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), who were involved in the martyrdom of seven police personnel.
During the operation, a large cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered.
The development comes after at least seven police personnel, including the station house officer of Shadi Khel police station, were killed when an improvised explosive device targeted a police mobile in Lakki Marwat.
A huge quantity of hand grenades and other weapons were also recovered from these terrorists.
Mohsin Naqvi lauds police and CTD for foiling attacks
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the police and Counter Terrorism Department CTD) for foiling Khawarij’s terrorists attacks in Kalachi and Kohat.
Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the bravery and professionalism shown by the police and Counter Terrorism Department teams for sending six terrorists to hell.
He expressed appreciation for the security forces’ efforts in foiling the terrorists’ plans, stating that the nation stands united with them in the fight against terrorism.
Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the country is united against Khawarji terrorists and stands firmly with the security forces.
He noted that the nation takes pride in the security forces’ professionalism and courage.
